Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, each Title I school identified as a School in Need of Improvement (SINI) is required to provide public school choice. This means that, if one school within a school district is identified as a School in Need of Improvement, students at that school have the right to choose to attend a different school within the same district. If you have a child who is entering grades K – 4 at Inter-Lakes Elementary School, you may choose to have your child attend Sandwich Central School. Transportation will be provided by the district.
Sandwich Central School is located in Center Sandwich, 13 miles northeast of Meredith. This K-6 school has an enrollment of approximately 75 students and features multi-age classrooms (ex: Primary Multi-age is grades K and 1; Middle Multi-age is grades 2 and 3; Upper Multi-age is grades 4 and 5; Grade 6 is a standalone grade). More information about the Sandwich Central School is available at www.interlakes.org/scs

Supplemental Educational Services (SES)
Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act, each Title I School identified as a School in Need of Improvement is required to provide Supplemental Educational Services (SES) in year two of their designation. Due to the fact that Inter-Lakes Elementary School is classified as a Year 3 School in Need of Improvement for mathematics, we are required by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) act to offer Supplemental Educational Services (SES) to eligible students in grades K-4. Students are eligible for this program based on family income and attendance at a school that is identified as a School in Need of Improvement.
Below is information regarding the number of students who were eligible and those who accessed Supplemental Educational Services (SES) since the 2007-08 school year:
