Inter-Lakes Elementary School has been named as the winner of the 2009 New Hampshire Elementary School of Excellence Award

At a recent school assembly, the students and staff of Inter-Lakes Elementary School were informed that I-LES has been selected as the 2009 New Hampshire Elementary School of the Year! Criteria for the award included: personalization, standards, relevance, community involvement, and empowered educators. Representatives from the NH Excellence In Education Awards (EDies) Selection Committee, from McDonald's Restaurant (the EDies corporate sponsor) and the superintendent's office were on hand for the ceremony. We are SO proud of our staff and students at I-LES. The school will be recognized at the Excellence in Education Awards ceremony on June 13th in Manchester, NH.

I-LHS Band Receives Superior Rating

On May 29, 2009 the Inter-Lakes High School Band under the direction of Steven Bush performed at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, New Jersey as part of the Music in the Parks Festival. Of the bands that performed that day, they were one of two bands to receive a Superior rating. They were the only New England band participating in the festival with the other bands coming from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Up...Up...and Away!!!

I-LES students were recently treated to a very special visit from the REMAX hot air balloon. Special thanks to Rhonda Hanaway and the local REMAX Real Estate office for making this possible! Students had the opportunity to see the entire process of inflating and then flying a hot air balloon. Fifth graders learned about the science behind hot air balloon flight. Students also had an opportunity to see many of their teachers and other staff take lift-off and float above them. It was quite an amazing sight to see!
