Mrs. MacMillan’s
7th and 8th Grade
The learning goals for 7th and 8th grade art students are simply:
To be given multiple opportunities to create,
communicate and express ideas
To help develop artistic skills and individual styles
To identify the elements and principles of design
and be able to incorporate them into original
artwork
To gain an appreciation of the importance of art
history and cultural differences
To tap into the “right” side of the brain
To “feed your spirit”
To build community through an atmosphere of
respect and tolerance for one another.
“ Within the art classroom, three key qualities are nurtured: creativity, confidence and compassion. As an educator, I believe all three are essential ingredients to the learning process.”
