Welcome to Mrs. Bannon's Class!

October Conference Schedule

 August 2011

Dear Families,

Wow!  I can hardly believe the start of another school year is upon us.  I hope that your family enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer.  I am pleased to say that I had a fun-filled summer with my family.

I am very excited to share my fourth year teaching first grade with you and your child.  I just know that it will be an exciting adventure.

I am hoping that we will have some time to connect prior to the hectic first day of school. So, please join me for an informal Open House in our classroom (room 105- across the hall from the kindergarten classrooms) from 2-3pm on Friday, August 26th.   I look forward to meeting with you.

So…this is when I will try to anticipate some of the questions and concerns swirling around in your head.  Here goes…

Q:  What do I do about snack and/or lunch for my child?  Pack it? Purchase it at school?

A:  Your child may purchase snack and/or lunch at school daily.  There are a variety of choices for both snack and lunch (breakfast too).  Please look on the school website for the menu and one will come home with your child on the first day of school.  If you prefer your child may bring his/her own snack/lunch from home.

Q:  What supplies will my child need for school?

A:  Good question!  Your child will need a backpack or some sort of school bag in order to bring items such as notices, books, homework, etc. to and from school.  I will supply your child with a folder which you will need to check daily so that we can be sure any items needed to be seen by either you or I will be noticed.  I thank you in advance for your support.

Q:  How will Mrs. Bannon know where to send my child at dismissal?

A:  I am relying on you to fill out the attached Departure Form and return it to me at our Open House.   It is important to me that your child get home safely after school daily.  Thank you in advance for your promptness in filling in the necessary information.

I am sure that you have other questions, comments, and concerns so please bring them with you to our Open House on August 26th.  I cannot wait to see all of you then.  Enjoy your last couple weeks of summer vacation.  See you soon.

Excitedly,

Kim Bannon

P.S. Please know that the bus routes will NOT be published in the paper this year!  They are posted on the school website.  There is a link under “Quick Links”.  If you have any questions, please call First Student Bus Co. (476-5564).
